The Role

A large integrated High-End Casino Resort is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable VP of Finance to join their multinational team.

Strategy

  • Work with the executive team to grow the business, formulating strategies and plans to achieve the strategy approved by the Board of Directors

  • Lead and manage the budgeting process including formulation of annual operational budgets and capital expenditure programs

  • Formulation of forecasts on a quarterly basis or as required by the company’s Directors

  • Ensure risk management strategy in place and, with the involvement of the Board of Directors, appropriate insurance covers to mitigate insurable risks where applicable

 

Main Responsibilities

Responsible for all operational finance areas including:

  • Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters

  • Responsible for all external audit related matters

  • Presentation of annual accounts with recommendations

  • Review of accounts and investigation of variances, then setting recovery plans

  • Oversee the balance sheet account reconciliation process and manage the appropriate timely remedy of outstanding items

  • Responsible for overall cash management on an ongoing basis and treasury related matters

  • Ensuring proper control over the capital expenditure process – evaluation and preparation of submissions for consideration

  • Preparation of feasibility studies and ensuring, with the involvement of the executive team in each area, overall operational efficiency

  • Involvement in commercial negotiations with suppliers where appropriate and overall responsibility for the Supply Chain Management strategy

  • Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of the appropriate statutory bodies are understood and complied with directly related to the finance function

  • Involvement in IT related matters to ensure best practice and latest technology advances applied to the business where appropriate

 

Human Resources

  • Lead and develop the finance team, including manpower planning, appropriate job descriptions and employee development

  • Ensure the performance management review process is in place and utilize the same to assist with the annual remuneration review for all employees (for budget preparation)

 

Communication and Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of daily, weekly and monthly updates including daily revenue reports

  • Prepare where required management reports detailing performance and present to the Board of Directors as required, as well as quarterly and annual Board updates.

  • Ensure regular engagement with stakeholders related to finance matters and manage relations with stakeholders as necessary

 

Person Specification

  • Degree in Finance/Accounting is required

  • Finance qualification with appropriate levels of experience

  • Appropriate commercial and business experience

  • Exceptional communication skills at all levels

  • Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision making

•      This position will be responsible for maintaining the highest culinary standards, providing an authentic Chinese Hot Pot restaurant experience for guests.

 

Duties & responsibilities

•      Reporting to the Asian Hot Pot Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

•      Assistance in composing menus with authentic Chinese character

•      Preparation and presentation of all food items in accordance with the food and beverage standards and menu guidelines

•      Ensure the kitchen is maintained to high hygiene standard at all times and safe food handling practices are followed, and control over the compliance with HACCP standards

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

Job Description

  • This position will be responsible for maintaining the highest culinary standards, upholding a safe working environment, seeking opportunities to increase food revenue, decrease kitchen expenses and maximize departmental productivity without compromising guests’ satisfaction.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Head Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Participate in the composition of menu planning for all outlets

  • Supervise the kitchen in the preparation and presentation of all food items in accordance with the food and beverage standards and menu guidelines to ensure a high level of quality

  • Based on sales figures by menu item, review the profitability and popularity of dishes on the menu and make changes where applicable together with the Head Chef

  • Assist with the drafting of concept ideas and menus for all special events and functions

  • Participate in the budgeting process

  • On an ongoing basis, manage and analyse departmental costs to ensure performance against budget; take actions when necessary to eliminate excess cost or unnecessary expenditures to achieve positive business results

  • Timely evaluate all direct reports by providing feedback regarding their work and conduct annual staff performance appraisal

  • Ensure the kitchen is maintained to high hygiene standard at all times and safe food handling practices are followed, and control over the compliance with HACCP standards

  • Review standard operating procedures to uphold strict adherence to the local regulations

 

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Young dynamic chef with great modern skills, well settled in Western and Asian Cuisine.

  • Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized Institution

  • Minimum 8 years of combined kitchen experience.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management position in one of a leading 5 star hotel chain in the same role or as Chef de Cuisine/Snr. Sous Chef.

  • Experience in large scale operations and busy catering operations

  • Organizational and management skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English; both in oral and written form

  • Budgeting skills

  • HACCP skills

  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements, workplace hygiene

The Company

A growing multi-site UK casino operator, with operations around the country is seeking a positive and experienced Compliance Manager to join their growing business. 

 

The Role

Our client seeks a Compliance Manager to take on all aspects of casino compliance.

This will include the current hot topics of Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) as well as implementing the incoming affordability rules, and all other elements of regulatory compliance within UKGC Legislation.

 

  • Lead and Manage the existing Compliance Team, including dedicated MLRO and Social Responsibility Officer

  • Take responsibility for the compliance function across the business, with a remit to ensure the entire business stands up to the increased scrutiny within the sector.

  • Review and update all relevant policy, procedure and compliance manuals.

  • Deliver site compliance audits.

  • Sit on the Compliance Committee and report to the Board.

  • Maintain current knowledge and research future changes in the compliance sector, to enable the business to plan ahead for future changes to legislation and regulations.

 

The Candidate

You will have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the gaming industry, although not necessarily the land based casino sector.
